Rule 5 Saturday: Laura Prepon

In the spirit of FB’s “National F&@k a Ginger Day”:

It’s all about the numbers.

(With a tip o’ the hat to the blog)

So, why hasn’t Ted Rall been charged with incitement to domestic terrorism?

November 14, 2010

Hard on the heels of “Timmy Tantrum” Wise’s projecting screech at the “White Right” over the Republican victories in the Mid-Terms, we have Ted “Tough Talk” Rall calling for the overthrow of the US government:

We can wait for the system to collapse of its own accord, for the rage of the downtrodden and dispossessed to build, for chaos of some sort to expose and destroy it. But implosion might take a long time. And when it happens, we may find ourselves even more powerless than we are now. They — the hardcore, racist, undereducated, fundamentalist Christian, anti-civil liberties Right — are preparing to step into the breach, to seize power. They can’t wait to unleash their venomous hatred on the city-dwelling commie hipster fags they despise. They are armed. They recognize that the system is doomed. They’ve seen this coming. They’re organized and willing to merge their disparate brands of conservatism under a common
leadership. Most importantly, they get it. They don’t need to be convinced that everything is in play. They’re putting it in play.

You must change that. You must become strong. You must organize. You must do whatever it takes to oppose the system. When you get the chance, you must destroy it. If you don’t kill it, it will die nonetheless. But it will drag us down along with it. That is what happened to the Russians. Though some Marxist analysts attribute the events of 1991 to counterrevolutionary forces — the politicians who gathered around Boris Yeltsin certainly fit the bill in some respects — the Soviet government wasn’t actually toppled. It collapsed. Broke and ideologically exhausted, its adherence to revolutionary socialist principles having devolved to mere lip service, the very idea of government as a viable and necessary entity withered and disappeared. Power decentralized. Without an organized group of opposition leaders poised to take the reins, the vacuum was filled by former factory managers and gangsters who backed the men who morphed into Russia’s present-day oligarchs.

Revolution, though bloody and terrifying, would have been easier than the slow convulsions of collapse. So it will be here.

If the U.S. government is going to collapse anyway, it behooves us to first replace it with something that can stand in its place. Unless we act, we’ll have to deal with a post-collapse scenario, in which we’ll have to fend off roving criminal gangs, hoodlums, predatory corporations, oppressive residual government entities, and an emboldened political right.

(All italics are mine.)

Could you imagine the shit-storm that would fly were a Tea Partier to say something like this–let alone write a book advocating it?

Of course, “Tough Talk Ted” doesn’t want to do any of hard stuff like leading his revolution:

Well, that’s not what this book is about. I don’t want to lead a revolution — not because I’m not willing, but because I wouldn’t be good at it. I’m not wired that way. I’ve never even been a community organizer.

No, no, no– Teddy wants other people to do all that sweaty, messy stuff like fighting and dying. Wouldn’t want the cartoonist to ruin his manicure, now–would we?

Ted is that guy at the back of the crowd who likes to egg people on when a barfight is brewing, but is the first to run for the exit when the shit begins to fly. Ted Rall is no Bill Ayers.

I don’t think I’ll hold my breath waiting for the FBI to pick up Teddy.

A little re-decorating.

Decided to change up the theme. Generally, I’m not fond of light text against a dark background because it’s a bit hard on the eyes ( at least that’s my experience– I might need bifocals ). It was getting a bit hard to read the Green Girl theme, so I’ve gone with Contempt. Hopefully that will prove easier on the eyes.

Mencius Moldbug has an interesting article entitled Democracy, cis and trans; Maine’s Law. It’s something to think about.

When one stares into the Abyss, the Abyss stares into you…

By now, Tim White’s democidal rant has gotten around enough blogs that anyone reading my tiny slice of the Internet won’t be all that shocked by it.

Some thoughts:

A dog always returns to its vomit:

Tim’s “plan” is essentially the same espoused by Charles Manson and The Family– wait for whites to be wiped out by an impending race war, then emerging to lead the poor, incompetent “darkies” to an earthly Utopia. It was a stupid plan then, and it’s a ridiculously stupid idea today. Yet it’s exactly the core belief of Progressiveness/Leftism/Liberalism towards non-whites: they can’t possibly do for themselves, so they need the Enlightened to save them.

This is the reaction of a spoiled child:

The only difference between the tone of Tim’s rant and that of my brother’s in-law 2-year old niece is that Tim actually has a following, and the niece gets a regular swat on the ass when she goes off her handle.

    Progressives/Leftists/Liberals etc. are patronizing a**holes:

Seriously–didn’t everyone, upon reading this drivel, hear a snarky voice in the back their head quip: “Whattaya mean we, paleface?” What in the world makes Timmy Tantrum think that Blacks and Browns need him? Nobody respects a brown-noser, and everybody hates a patronizing suck-up.

The Republican Party is the de facto White Party:

Whites voted Republican 60% of the time in the 2010 elections, an increase of 14% from 2008. It would appear that Kathie Shaidle and Steve Sailer are right– the Republicans do not need minorities to win.* What the Republican Leadership learns from that remains to be seen. The Republicans will never be able to buy the votes of other ethnic groups the way the Democrats have, and they look like suck-ups when they try to do so; the 2010 elections show that the Party needs to start acting to the benefit of their base–Whites–if they intend to remain in power. This is the Stupid Party we are talking about, so chances are that they simply won’t learn the lesson, and loose in 2012.

* Yes, I noticed that Asians increased their votes for Repubs 18% since 2008, but they still voted Republican only 40% of the time in 2010–20% less than Whites. That means Asians went 60% Democrat. That may change in time, but for now the Asian vote remains with the Democrats.

“Race” matters, and allegiance to one’s ethnic group matters more than egalitarianism:

I’ve been giving a lot of thought to my exchange with Escarondito, the postings on race made by Obsidian, and the behavior of my non-white co-workers over the last two years, and I have come to the conclusion that the dream of MLK Jr. is dead. No matter how much you strive for a color-blind society, where all are judged by the content of their character, you will always be judged first and foremost by the color of your skin. Race–however you choose to define it–is so deeply ingrained into our society that it cannot be extracted. You cannot force egalitarianism without creating a society not worth living in– we can be free, or we can be equal, but not both.

It’s depressing– I always considered MLK Jr.’s dream to be a truly Enlightened one, even saintly. I guess I forgot that the majority of Mankind is Fallen.

If you’re not a liberal when you’re 25, you have no heart. If you’re not a conservative by the time you’re 35, you have no brain.~ Fran├žois Guizot. I guess the same applies when you choose to be an egalitarian or part of an ethnic– if you identify as White when you’re young, you have no heart; if you don’t identify as White when you’re 35, you have no brain.

So be it.
